  • JANUARY HOUSE CONCERT

Wednesday, January 18, 7:00 PM at Lees and John Baldwin's home (28 Robert Mills Circle)

    • Featuring Chamber Music Charleston's Frances Hsieh, violin; Timothy O’Malley, cello; Irina Pevzner, piano
    • Pieces to be performed include:
      • Schubert Sonatensatz in B Flat Major
      • Mendelssohn Piano Trio in d minor
      • Piazzolla Primavera Protena

  • I'ON HOLIDAY FESTIVAL

Sunday, December 4 beginning at 5:30 PM AT Maybank Green and Westlake Amphitheater

    • 5:30 Luminary Lighting at homes
    • 6:00 I'On Holiday Tree Lighting on Maybank Green
      • Bring canned food items for donation to East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO)
      • Bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation to Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center
      • Music by I'Onissimo Sings and carol singing
      • Check presentation of Giving Lights proceeds to Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center
    • Afterwards, neighbors will walk to Westlake Amphitheater for arrival of a special guest, singing, refreshments, etc.
      • Special feature - free carriage rides to view luminaries - see I'On newsletter for information on how to sign up for a carriage ride time

  • GIVING LIGHTS OF I'ON

Sunday, December 4 at 5:30 PM throughout I'On

  • A holiday donation project, presented by the I'On Trust, to support local nonprofit organizations that address a human need. Beautiful luminaries will light our neighborhood as a symbol of this caring.
  • This year's goal is to raise $10,000 to support the Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center. Their mission is to keep children safe from abuse, and when abuse occurs, to work with the community to bring healing to those childen and their families.
  • Watch for your Area Captain to deliver your order form and return to her by Friday, Novermber 11. Your luminary kit(s) will be delivered to your home in time for the lighting on Dec. 4.

Saturday, October 29, 4-7 PM on Maybank Green

Supported by John Paul and Anderson Insurance Associates, Publix, the I'On Club, Places, Palmetto Mosquito Control, Lawn-O-Green, O'Brion's Pub and Grille, and John Farrish

    • Family-friendly event
    • Costume contest for children and adults
    • Face painting
    • Jump castles
    • Game with the Kitchen Witches (parents, please bring a bag of candy with individually wrapped pieces to help with supplies)
    • Pumpkin decorating contest (we'll provide everything you need, including the pumpkins - first come, first served)
    • Monster Mobile Game Theater
    • Prizes, prizes, prizes!!
    • Hot dog cookout with soft drinks (provided by Publix)
    • Covered dish - neighbors bring side dishes (cole slaw, baked beans, chips, desserts, etc.). Be sure to shop at Publix!

  • SUNTRUST LECTURE SERIES

Tuesday, October 25, 6:30 PM at the Creek Club

  • Featuring Charleston’s own Brad Van Liew, the winner of this year’s Velux 5 Oceans solo sailing race, with his presentation, “Lessons from the Savage Seas.” Brad is America’s undisputed #1 extreme solo sailor.
  • Brad will have pictures and videos to share. His personal story-telling is inspiring to hear and can convince others that they, too, can accomplish great things in following a dream. We hope young folks from I’On will want to come with their parents to hear this unique talk.
  • 6:30 refreshements, 7:00 presentation
  • Admission free and open to the public

Friday, May 13, 7:00 PM at Marilyn and Jennings Austin's home (4 Edenton Road)

    • Featuring I'On neighbor and flautist Susan Conant, pianist Lin Raymond, and vocalist Sophia Zimmerman
    • Selections to include original chamber music compositions for classical and ethnic flutes, piano and voice. The music melds Celtic, classical and jazz elements. The audience will be treated to the first full public performance of “Low Country Suite,” a work Susan completed after being immersed in the coastal landscape as a participant in the South Carolina Master Naturalist course.
    • Tickets $35 each.

    • Presented by Chamber Music Charleston, this event is back by popular demand following the first concert in I'On in November.
    • The concert, entitled "The Art of the String Quartet," will feature:

      • R. Scott "Toy Trumpet" and "The Penguin"
